Li Mengtao

Current Director of the Rheumatology Department at PUMCH and Chief Scientist of the National Lupus Program. His greatest expertise lies in scleroderma and connective tissue disease-associated pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) — one of the most dangerous complications in rheumatology. He is China's top expert in treating this form of PAH, and routinely manages the most critically ill patients. He co-established the National Rheumatology Data Center, using big data to guide clinical treatment. Many patients with scleroderma and critical lupus who were given "death sentences" by other hospitals have found a turning point under his care.
